The Application was launched by the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Person Of Interest
In law enforcement, time is of the essence, and having quick access to critical information can make all the difference in preventing crime and bringing criminals to justice. That’s where the “Person of Interest” feature of the MCCTNS (Mobile Companion for Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) mobile app comes in. With the Person of Interest feature, police officers can quickly access criminal profiles directly from their mobile phones. This feature is a boon in several situations, as it saves valuable time compared to searching for details from manual records. Instead of having to manually search through records or contact other officers for information, officers can now access complete criminal profiles with just a few taps on their mobile devices.
The Person of Interest feature shows the complete criminal profile of a person, including their basic details, case history, modus operandi type, category, and photo. This information is critical for officers when responding to calls, investigating crimes, or conducting routine checks.
Crime Mapping and Analysis
Crime Mapping and Analysis is a vital component of modern policing, which helps departments to make better decisions, target resources effectively, perform geographic profiling, and formulate strategies. This module involves the creation of visual representations of crime data on maps, which helps officers to identify patterns and trends in crime activity. With the MCCTNS software solution, officers can quickly access and analyze crime data in real-time, allowing them to make informed decisions about how to allocate resources, target their operations, and develop strategies.
Crime mapping and analysis also enable departments to perform geographic profiling, which is the process of analyzing crime data to identify the most likely location of an offender’s home or workplace. This information can be critical in apprehending suspects and solving crimes, as it allows officers to focus their efforts on specific areas or individuals.

This feature allows any police personnel or officer to access and add the locations and details of CCTV cameras in any division or district. With this module, officers can easily access a map that displays all the CCTV cameras near their location. This allows them to quickly determine the areas covered by CCTV and the location of each camera. Additionally, officers can add new CCTV cameras to the map by entering their location and other relevant details, such as camera type and coverage area.
This feature is incredibly valuable for law enforcement agencies as it enables officers to quickly identify the areas covered by CCTV cameras and gather information that may be useful for criminal investigations. With this information, officers can make informed decisions and take appropriate action to prevent crimes from occurring or to apprehend suspects. Moreover, the CCTV GIS module can also help officers monitor and improve the effectiveness of existing CCTV cameras. By adding new cameras to the map and monitoring their coverage areas, officers can identify gaps in the CCTV network and take steps to improve coverage.
UDR Cases
UDR (Unidentified Dead Bodies and Remains) cases are cases where body or human remains are found but the identity of the deceased is not known. In order to solve these cases and identify the person, the police and other law enforcement agencies collect various data such as fingerprints, dental records, DNA samples, and other physical characteristics. This data is stored in a database called UDR cases. With the advancements in technology, UDR cases data can now be accessed by police officers on their mobile phones. This means that they can easily search for and access information about UDR cases while on the go.
Whenever a new UDR case is registered, all officers of the unit are notified, ensuring that all relevant personnel are aware of the new case and can contribute to the investigation if necessary. The system also provides various search options, making it easier for officers to find the information they need quickly and efficiently. Additionally, UDR details can be cross-searched with missing cases, allowing officers to identify any potential matches between the two databases. This can be a powerful tool in identifying missing persons and bringing closure to families and loved ones.
Missing Persons
Missing persons cases are those where an individual is reported missing, and their whereabouts are unknown. To aid in the search for missing individuals, law enforcement agencies maintain a database of information on missing persons cases. This information includes personal details, physical descriptions, and any other relevant information. With the advancements in technology, missing persons data can now be accessed by police officers on their mobile phones. This means that officers can easily search for and access information about missing persons cases while on the go.
